Drawing Moari Gods

Drawing Moari Gods

In week 7 we started to draw maori gods but before we we read a book called In The Begining with all the maori gods in the book. First we had to choose a god in the book and he had to draw what we think the gods looks like in your way and you're not allowed to look on google or the book. I chose Tu but his real name is Tumatuenga but they call him Tu for short. I drew big muscley arms because he is the god of war and men and he needs muscley arms to have a war.

My moari god is fat and he has a taha so when he fights he can hit people within it. A taha is a moari weapon that moaris used to use back in the olden days. I also drew tatoos and his tongue poking out so he looks scary and people wouldn't want to fight him. I tried to draw him skinny but it turned out that he was fat and his nails turned out to be sharp and long. I coloured him red, grey black because red and black looks like a brave and scary colour. It turned out to be fantastic and cool when it was finished.

The awesome Cross Country

The awesome Cross Country

On the 11th of September our school had Cross Country and we had to dress up in our house colours. In the morning it was normal timetable but then we had to go outside and line up in our year groups. The first thing I did was rest and the people that ordered a combo they got their iceblock and cake before the race. We were playing a game called sormakalo and there were two circles and it was a boys and a girls circles.

Next we were at the kicking goals and we had to get 25 goals. I got 25. We went to the skipping next and I was actually good at doing it backwards and a little bit forwards. The obstacle course was a bit hard but the begining was the hardest because I couldn't stay on the bouncy ball. I nearly lost my voice from cheering so loud because I nearly said everybody's name that ran past us. The boys and girls went at the same time but me and my freinds were helping a boy with asthma. We nearly came last but it was  very fun running with my freinds. I went to the bake sale and bought myself a cookie, muffin and a brownie. It ws very nice and I had my other lunch from home also.

Squash with Jude

Squash with Jude

On Wednsdays we have squash sessions with Jude our teacher for squash. For our first session we did eye cornation were we had to throw the ball up and catched it twenty times. On the second session we did ralley's and learnt about what the lines are called so we know where to hit the ball . Our homework was to search up the history of squash because if we know more than that might make you better at squash. There were three lines and they were called the outer line, the serve line and the the tin line. When you start playing you have to get it over the serve line or else your out and if you hit it over the outer line or bellow the tin then you are out. In our third session we started doing rally's with each other and Jude had to go to another school so Michel and Nel came to take over for him. We had four stations. On all the stations we had to rally against our buddies. Each group that 5 to 6 children in it. We have our sessions after morning tea and we line up and wait for our teacher to come. My favourite part of squash is playing rally with my freind.

Mt Ruapehu 2019 Snow Camp

Mt Ruapehu 2019 Snow Camp

On the 20th of August the year 5's and 6's was getting ready for camp because we had to show the teachers what gear we had so they can give us the things that we don't. I was feeling so excited because my brother and sister told me that snowboarding was very fun at camp. I was also nervous because I wasn't going with my parents so I was missing them when I went to camp. I gave my other sleeping bag to my friend because he didn't have one and he had the red one and I had the blue one.

We had some stops before we came to the Crossing Lodge so the first stop we stopped at the Hamilton Gardens and we did a photo hunt but we didn't win. We also went to Ed Hillary walkway and we did kind of the same thing but we had to answer questions on the paper. We went to the park and played there and then we went to the school to play as well. Then we went to The Crossing and we went to our bedrooms to check them out. There was three bunk beds and there was six people in our room. Then we went to have dinner and we had sauseges and beef and veges. The games we played was like board games and drawing and there was also a movie room but it was in a closet door.

We went sleep, woke up early, had some breakfast and went on the bus to get on a shuttle because the normal bus can't go up hills but shuttle buses can. We had our first lesson and I did I little bit good but bad to. And the second lesson I did better and on the first day we went sledding but it was slow and boring for me. And the second day there was a blizzard and I went down and I couldn't see but I still made it to the bottom.

My favorite part was when we went up the mountain because it was fun and I had races with my freinds. My other favourite part was the pools because you could do bombs and we got hotdogs, cookies and brownies. My other favourite part was the Hamilton Gardens because it had so many fantastic gardens and we had a photo hunt to. It was really fun on camp and I wish I go there again another day. This is a link for my reflaction and my other slidshow.
