Baking at home

Baking at home
At home I have been baking some delicious food for my family. I baked cheese scones and it was a easy recipe so it was quick to do. I love making cheese scones because it is easy and very delicious to eat. I family loved it and they wanted me to make it again another day. My mum loves cheese scones and she loved me baking it for her. We ate it as a family and everybody loved my cheese scones.

I also baked some brownies with my sister. It was easy but we forgot some instructions because we didn't watch the whole video first before we did it. I put the brownies in the oven and I waited a long time. Once it got out it smelt fantastic and I just wanted to eat it straight away. We waited until it was cooled down then me and my sister tasted it and it was soft on the inside and kinda hard on the outside. We also had it with ice cream. It was a fun day and I hope we get to bake different things during lockdown. I had so much fun!

Work in Lockdown

Work in Lockdown

In Lockdown we have been doing some work. At home I have been doing work for the rest of the week and the teachers said we had to finish of some work. So for maths I have been doing Times tables and I know my time tables really good now. For reading I have been reading a book on my chromebook and I have been reading everyday. There is a really good site that you can read books and it is called worldstories. I really like the worldstories site and you can change the launguage too if you want. For writing I have been starting a story. My sister is cheking it and giving me feedback. It is about fortnite and how to play and what it is. I am very lucky to have a good sister that would check my work to see if it is good. Hopefully the lockdown isn't to long and stay safe.

Basketball zones

Basketball zones
On the Tuesday the people that got picked for basketball zones got ready in their uniform and we got seperated into different cars. I went into Jihu's dads car and when we arrived to the arena stadium to play basketball. We went up and put our bags down under our chair and we went down to the courts to practice.

Our first game was against Christ the king and we beat them but there was no points. We kept on going up when it wasn't our turn and we went down when it was our turn. Finally we had a lunch break. It was 20 minuts long and we could go to the toilet only if we went with a buddy. We could also fill up our water bottles if you needed too. We were just half way of the day and we just needed 5 more teams to go. We needed to vs all the teams again because there was no one else that we could vs.

The first team that Mr Riceman put on the court are now on he second half so the other group can have a turn going first. We were done for the day and we had to say thank you to the parents and the teachers and the referees. The group that I was in went back to Jihu's dad, we went to his car and went back to school. We got changed and then we joined our class and we had to read a book. It was so much fun and I hope I get to do it again next time.

Fun day on Matariki

Fun day on Matariki
On the 23rd of July it was Matariki and Matariki is the seven sisters and it's where families celerbrate and have a feast and say prayers. You can see the seven sisters at dawn and it is 7 bright stars in the sky. At school we did rotations and Manukau's first rotations was baking fried bread with Mrs Jones. First we put in the self raising flour and then water while we were mixing. We were kneading it and it started to get sticky so we put more flour to make it less sticky. We put it in the deep fryer and we we made mini ones from the crumbs and after it was done it tasted super delicious. We put butter and golden syryp and it tasted super nice, the dough was puffy and it was big too. After, we finished of our Matariki paper that was about Matariki.

For the second rotation we went into Waitemata for stop motion and we got ready, we got paper and play dough we started on the chair. We glued paper onto the white paper and the green one too for the night and the grass. We drew penguins as the 7 sister because we ad to do a maori myth or legend. We did a video on stop motion but we couldn't do the audio because it was time to pack up.

For our last rotation we did moari kites and it looked cool because there was cool paterns on them. I was doing a different job and we had to connect different paterns together with glue and tape. After, me and my friend glued a little kite with a hot glue gun and it looked super awesome after we finished. It was so awesome the whole day and I hope we do it again. It felt good because we did cool things and we made yummy food with jam and golden syryp.

Rotation art

Rotation art
On Wednsday we did rotation in the library and we started to walked with our things inside our boxes. When we arrived at the library the teahcer opened it with her keys. We got inside and we sat on the mat straight away and they started telling us the instructions to do. The teachers said go do your rotation art.

Me and my friend started to colour in our cool and awesome rotation art. I was colouring my rotation art red and black, my friend coloured his red and black. We tryed to sharpen our pencils but it didn't work so we tried another one and it worked so we started colouring. Me and my friend coloured in our patterns very dark and it was hard work. We sharpend it so much we lost count.

My pattern was just straight lines and crossing but my friends pattern was a flower. I was almost done with my pattern and I just needed to do one more half. It was fun doing my patern with my friend and I hope we get to do it again. So we lined up and walked back to class with our boxes and Hauraki was doing tennis. I love going to the library and doing work with my friends.
