Baking at home

Baking at home
At home I have been baking some delicious food for my family. I baked cheese scones and it was a easy recipe so it was quick to do. I love making cheese scones because it is easy and very delicious to eat. I family loved it and they wanted me to make it again another day. My mum loves cheese scones and she loved me baking it for her. We ate it as a family and everybody loved my cheese scones.

I also baked some brownies with my sister. It was easy but we forgot some instructions because we didn't watch the whole video first before we did it. I put the brownies in the oven and I waited a long time. Once it got out it smelt fantastic and I just wanted to eat it straight away. We waited until it was cooled down then me and my sister tasted it and it was soft on the inside and kinda hard on the outside. We also had it with ice cream. It was a fun day and I hope we get to bake different things during lockdown. I had so much fun!

  1. Hi Demitrius, I love that you are looking after your family by baking for them - what a kind thing to do during lockdown. It would be great if you could post some photographs of the delicious items you've baked, and perhaps pop the recipes online for other people to have a go at! Did you eat the scones warm or cold? I like cheese scones served warm, with butter on, but I like sweet, date scones served cold with jam and cream. Well done for your super post!

  2. Hello Demitrius,

My name is Farah and I´m from Hay Park school-Tuffery Class. I really love how you described the brownies, they sounded delicious. You sound like the total opposite person from my brother he just cooks for himself and disappears into his room, I barely see him for the rest of the day.

Did your brownies taste any different from normal brownies? Since you and your sister missed some instructions, maybe next time you could tell us how to make cheese cones. Great job!

  3. Talofa Demitrius. How marvelous it is that you find baking fun, and that you enjoy baking with and for your family too. They are fortunate to have you. What will you bake next? Have you tried any of the recipes on the Te Waka Ako Can Cook slide? Maybe next time you could share the video link to the Brownies recipe. Thanks for sharing. Malo lava!

  4. Hi Demitrias
Your family will be so happy that you are baking for them to share. I love cheese scones too. Sometimes I make them with 3 different kinds of cheese. They are very tasty! Was the recipe online? I like doing online recipes because I can find ones that make the same thing but I am able to choose an easy vesion. I am keen on recipes that don't use too many dishes also. I sound a bit lazy don't I!
Have you thought of cooking dinner with your siblings? Our children did a delicious meatball dinner for us when they were younger. So tasty and we even got dessert they had made.
Keep up the blogging so we can stay connected and see what work you are doing at home.
Look after yourself and we will see you back at school.

    1. Thank you for the comment and I have not thought of cooking dinner for my family, thank you for giving me the idea and maybe I will sometime. The recipe for the brownie was online but the cheese scone recipe was from my fantastic mum.
